Why You Should Leave Video Comments on Online Video Websites

Video Icon2Image via Wikipedia
Are you an individual who loves getting your entertainment online?  If so, there is a good chance that you know what online video sites are. In fact, there is also a good chance that you have visited, at least, one before.  If you have, what did you think of the videos that you saw?  If you liked them, did you rate them or leave any comments?  If not, you should have.

As previously mentioned, online video websites are a source of entertainment for many internet users.  This is because many online video websites allow you to view their videos free of charge.  Of course, there are some video sites that will charge you to become a member or charge you a fee for watching certain videos, but most are free to use.  This is why online video websites offer the best possible source of online entertainment, because they are free to use or at least reasonably priced.

When it comes to finding a video online, you will find that it all depends on the online video website that you are visiting.  Videos that you should be able to find online may include, but should not be limited to music videos, homemade videos, celebrity interviews, sports recaps, and television shows.  Most online video sites have a large collection of homemade videos.  These videos are made by individuals, just like you.  Many individuals go through a lot of trouble to make their own video and upload it to share with you. That is why it is advised that you rate all of the videos that you see and leave comments, if they are allowed.

Perhaps, the most important reason why you should leave comments on a video website is to make your opinions known.  Many internet users leave positive comments when they have viewed a video that they thought was well put together.  In addition to positive comments, there are also internet users who leave negative comments, as well. If you were offended or left unsatisfied by watching a video, you can leave a negative comment.  When leaving a negative comment, it is advised you be as tasteful as can be. You will not just want to say that the video stunk, but you may also want to offer helpful suggestions.

Video makers love getting comments, especially those that focus on the positive points of their video, but that is not the only reason why you should leave a comment. There are a number of different online video websites that rank their member’s videos in a number of different ways.  Many online video websites rank videos by their user ratings, but others rank their videos by the number of comments that their videos have.  YouTube is one of those websites.  So, not only could you be making your opinions known, but you could also help to increase the ranking of the video that you just watched and enjoyed.

As you can easily see, there are a number of different reasons why you should leave a comment on a video that you watched online.  Although a fairly large number of online video websites allow you to post video comments, not all will.  In the event that comments are not allowed, you will, at least, want to rate the video. Almost all video websites will allow you to do this.

Making Business Easier With Autoresponders

In the online world of business, an autoresponder can do a lot for your company.  Also referred to as mailbots, email and on demand, and automatic email, these tools can help you put your business on autopilot and spend more time doing other things.  Autoresponders are great to have, as they are designed to automatically respond to any email they receive with an instant response.

Over the years, autoresponders have increased quite a bit in popularity.  They are best known for their automatic email responses, which will save you a lot of time.  By using one of these programs, you won’t have to spend countless hours answering emails again.  You can feel free to do other things and always know that your customers have access to the information they need anytime they want it.

To set your business on autopilot, all you need to do is get your copy ready and load it into your autoresponder.  Once a potential buyer or current customer sends your autoresponder address a message, the information he or she is seeking will automatically be delivered to them.  Autoresponders are very quick – delivering information via email in a matter of seconds.

Autoresponders can also help you send out free courses, articles and information, reports, information regarding your products and services, price lists, welcome and thank you letters, confirm orders, and tell others about your advertising rates.  You can preset information such as this into your autoresponder, so it will automatically send the information out whenever someone requests it.

Unlike mass email messages, autoresponders can be set up to your specifications.  You can send personalized messages with them as well, which will make your client feel as if the email was made specifically for him.  Autoresponders will also follow up with emails as well, to ensure that you get a sale.  The better autoresponders out there will notify you each and every time someone has requested your information, so you know when you have potential customers.

You can also update your autoresponder messages anytime you wish.  From time to time as you get new products or information to send to your clients, you can update your log.  When running a business, it’s very important that you keep your customers up to date.  This way, your customers will know that you have new products available and ready for purchase.  If you have a good relationship with them, they will be anticipating your new offers.

If you run a business over the Internet, an autoresponder can make life a lot easier.  You can let your autoresponder handle a majority of the tasks, including technical support and sending out information about your company and your products.  These days, autoresponders are the best tools for online business – as they give you plenty of free time for other things.

What Is Twitter and How You Can Use It

If you use the internet and stay up-to-date with the happenings online, you have likely heard of Twitter before.

Twitter is a cross between a micro-blog and a social networking website.  Most importantly, it is free to use.  A Twitter member will share updates with other members.  These updates are called Tweets.  These updates are in text format and they can be up to 140 characters each.  Depending on personal preferences, updates can be sent via instant messaging, RSS feeds, email, Facebook, mobile phones or the Twitter website.

For the most part, Twitter is used for social networking.  Members will message their friends with fun and interesting updates, such as a grade on a paper at school, a spring break trip, and so forth.  Although popular with teens and adults of all ages, Twitter is very popular with college students.  It allows them to stay in contact with their family and friends back home.

So, are you too busy to call your friends or family on a regular basis?   If so, Twitter may be your best option.  You can send messages through the Twitter website or your mobile phone.  If you are Mac user, as opposed to a PC user, you can also use the Twitterrific desktop program.  It allows you to send from your computer without first logging into the website.

Although Twitter is commonly used for social networking purposes, many businesses have started using the service to their advantage.  For example, coworkers working jointly on a project can update each other with their progress.  This service is also increasing in popularity for businesses where deliveries are required.  Updates and changes to a route schedule can easily be uploaded and shared with delivery drivers already in the field.

So, are you a business owner?  If so, you can use Twitter to your advantage.  Whether you operate a large business or a small one, Twitter can give your business an edge.  Although you may not run a factory-style business, your employees may work in a line.  For example, one employee must finish their work before another can begin theirs.  If that is the case, the free updates that Twitter allows can make it easy for constant communication.

There are over 2 million members at Twitter.  Unfortunately, you may not be one of them.  As previously stated, Twitter is a cross between a micro-blog and a social networking website.  If you use the internet to work, not just for recreation, you might assume that you do not have the time or energy to Twitter.  Yes, that may be true, but there is more to it.

So, are you self-employed?  Even if you work by yourself, you can still use Twitter to your advantage.  Although advertisements are advised against, there are roundabout ways for you to market your business.  Whether you are selling a product, service, or a combination of the two, you can spread the word with Twitter.  For example, are you employed as a web designer?  If so, send a Twitter message to your followers stating that you are working on a new website project.  In the event a follower needs a website developed, they may later remember your message and the services you offer.

As you can see, Twitter is more than just a social networking website and a micro-blog.  If you aren’t already one of the 2 million users who have tried it, give it a try.  With Twitter being free, you have nothing to lose.

A wealth of information on marketing yourself and your business on Twitter can be found here.

Ten Mobile SEO Secrets

I recently came across an article that I thought was particulrly relevant since there re so many more people accessing websites with mobile devices (smartphones, internet tablets, etc). Here is an excerpt and a link to the full article... Good stuff!

It was inevitable. Along with mobile websites, comes mobile website SEO.  But is it really so different from "regular" SEO?

Here are 10 tips to help your mobile website soar in the Search Engines...

1. Top of the list - make sure you create a mobile Site Map. This piece of XML code is directly from Google Webmaster Central, and Google recommends that, for once, you avoid Sitemap Creation tools.

(Whatever you do, don't omit the tag, or your mobile site won't be crawled.

Advantages to Making Your Own YouTube Videos

Are you a fan of YouTube?  If you enjoy watching free videos online, from a number of different genres, you may be a huge fan of YouTube.  Although many internet users only watch videos on YouTube, there are many who also post their own YouTube videos.  If you have never done so before, you may be wondering whether or not you really should.  To determine whether or not you should make and upload your own videos to the YouTube website, you will want to examine the advantages or the plus sides to doing so.

Perhaps, the biggest advantage to making your own YouTube videos is that your videos can be just about whatever you want them to be.  Popular videos on YouTube right now include comedy skits, video blogs, how-to videos, and music videos from up and coming artists.  Whether you want to make a video blog of yourself or if you and your friends want to just have fun with a video camera, you can do so.

Of course, when making a YouTube video you will want to use your best judgment.  Although YouTube accepts videos on a wide variety of different subjects, you will want to proceed with caution.  You should always be cautious of online predators; therefore, you will want to be cautious about divulging too much information about yourself.  You might not necessarily think about it, but you also want to make sure that you don’t record and post anything illegal on YouTube.  It has been said that YouTube regularly works with law enforcement to help solve crimes. That just goes to show that you never really who is watching your videos or what the consequences for posting them might be.

Another one of the many advantages or pros to making your own YouTube videos is that it is relatively easy to do.  Of course, you will need to have a video recording device. What is nice is that there are a number of different recording devices that you can use. For instance, many cell phones now come equipped with video recording capabilities.  In addition to cell phones, you should also be able to use traditional camcorders or webcams.  For the best quality YouTube video, you will want to have a movie editing software program.  Movie editing software programs will not only give you the ability to preview your videos, before uploading them to YouTube, but you should also be able to edit them, if you would like to remove something and so on.

Once you made one of your videos and uploaded it onto your computer, you will find that getting your video uploaded to YouTube’s website is just as easy. In fact, that is another one of the many advantages to making your own YouTube videos.  Just like actually making the video itself, uploading a YouTube video is as easy at it can be.  If you have never uploaded a video to YouTube before, you should be able to do, with ease. The YouTube uploading learning curve is so easy that you if you continue to make videos for the YouTube website you will be uploading them and sharing them with the internet community in no time at all.

Another benefit of making your own videos and uploading them to YouTube comes after the fact.  After you have uploaded your videos to YouTube and they are available for viewing, anyone with an internet connection can visit the YouTube website to view your videos.  This means that just one of you videos may be seen by thousands of people!  In fact, if those viewers are registered members of YouTube they can rate your YouTube videos or even leave comments for you.  This feature is nice because it gives you positive and sometimes even negative feedback; feedback that can be taken into consideration if and when you choose to make any more YouTube videos.

As you can see, there are a number of pros or advantages to making your own videos to share on YouTube.  As you likely know, there are also a number of disadvantages to doing so as well, including safety.  However, as long as you display caution when making a YouTube video or when talking with other YouTube members, your YouTube video making experience should be a positive one.

Know Your Audience When Marketing Online

Internet marketing is quickly becoming one of the most popular advertising options available. The Internet reaches a worldwide audience and is available 24 hours a day. For this reason more and more potential customers are turning to the Internet for a variety of reasons including researching products and services and making purchases. As more and more consumers turn to the Internet for these reasons, it is important for businesses to establish an online presence. This is so important because failure to do so may result in their competitors gaining an edge over them in competing for sales. While it is important for business to begin Internet marketing campaigns it is also important for these same businesses to realize basic advertising principles still exist and they cannot neglect these principles. Most importantly those who advertise online have to be aware of who their target audience is and how to reach this audience.

As with any marketing campaign, business owners should do some market research before they launch their Internet marketing campaign. Ideally this will involve hiring a research consultant with a great deal of experience in conducting and evaluating this type of market research. The results of this research should determine the basic demographical information for the target audience. The results should also include information on how to reach this target audience. A business that cannot afford to hire a consultant to conduct this market research should still make an effort to obtain this information on their own. This can be done through informal polls of current clients. This information may not be as comprehensive as the information obtained in a more formal study but it can still provide a great deal of insight into the best way to reach the target audience.

Once this information is obtained, it is important to tailor the Internet marketing campaign to appeal to the target audience. There are a number of different variables which can be modified to ensure the right message is reaching the right people in a manner they can understand and in which they can relate. Some of the ways in which your Internet marketing campaign can be tailored in this way include the aesthetics of your website or advertisements, the wording of your copy and the use of more advanced design features such as audio and visual or interactive tools.

The aesthetic appeal of a website can greatly contribute to how the website is viewed by the members of the target audience. A website which is designed to attract the attention of an older generation with more conservative tastes should include muted colors, clean design and conservative graphics. This will help to ensure the target audience enjoys the website. Conversely if you are looking to appeal to a younger audience with more liberal viewpoints you might chose to design the website with bold colors, eye catching graphics and creative design features.

The copy you include on your website should also take your target audience into consideration. Consider the examples of a conservative and a liberal audience listed above to create a better understanding of how the copy on your website can appeal to the target audience. When marketing to a more conservative audience, the copy should be tailored to use formal language and use facts to back up viewpoints. However, when you are marketing to a more liberal audience or a younger audience you can consider using less formal language which is likely to appeal to the target audience. You can also focus more on emotion to express viewpoints.

Finally, when a website is created for the purposes of Internet marketing it is important for the design of the website to appeal to the target audience. You may wish to include audio and video clips on your website but these clips should appeal to the target audience. For example if your website sells skateboards you might consider incorporating audio clips from punk rock bands as opposed to country music bands. There may be some skateboarders who enjoy country music but in general punk rock music more closely represents the skating culture. Keeping these details in mind is very important for Internet marketing.

Internet Marketing With Twitter

Twitter is quickly becoming a very famous social networking tool on the internet. More and more people are flocking to this site. It is being used for a wide variety of different things. Recently, more and more people have started using Twitter as a way to market their businesses on the internet. It is an excellent way to get the word out about your business to as many people as possibly quickly and to increase traffic to their websites.

It is easy to make money using Twitter. The problem is that while nearly everyone that visits the Twitter website wants to learn exactly how to best utilize the site, very few people actually know how. It is possible to log onto the site and to tweet. However, how do you really use Twitter to its full potential and get the results that you want to see? What does it take to get the right people following you? How do you go about deciding which tweeters you want to follow? These are questions that few people can answer. They simply do not know what the correct answers are and how Twitter is best utilized.

For some people, Twitter is all about how many followers they have. They do not have any other reason for using Twitter. It is merely a way to make friends and be important within the internet world. To best utilize Twitter, it is important to be able to answer a few basic questions. Why are all of these people choosing to follow you? What is the reason that perfect strangers have such an interest in you? If you cannot answer these questions, you will not be able to properly use Twitter to maximize your marketing campaign. You will not be able to profit from the use of Twitter either.

It is very possible to make money with Twitter. If you use it properly, you can drive huge amounts of traffic to your website, blog, or other advertising media. This process is completely legal. Twitter actually encourages its users to do this. This is due to the fact that the owners of the site want it to be as popular as it possibly can. They also want to have as many followers and users on the site as possible.

Anyone can potentially use Twitter to make money. It is not just for professional internet marketers. If you have an idea that you are able to sell to the public, or even a product for promotion there are many ways within Twitter to do this. It just takes basic understanding and knowledge of what you need to do. After all, Twitter is for much more than just tweeting.

The first thing that you need to do is understand the basics of Twitter. You make think that you know everything, but this would be a misconception. No one knows all that there is to know about Twitter. There are constantly new things to learn and discover. It is a good idea to start learning as much as you can in relation to the site. This will give you an edge over others that are not aware of the power and potential of this site.

Once you learn to use Twitter the right way, you will find that you are much more knowledgeable about the site and will enjoy using it much more. If you learn how to make money with Twitter when it is needed, you will be able to handle the sudden expenses that come along in life. By combining several different sites that cater to the internet marketing world, you will find that you create something so powerful it is nearly impossible not to be making money.

Search engine marketing entails getting as many visitors as possible to visit your website via the major search engines.  This type of marketing is very important for any internet business. Visitors are consistently searching for products as well as services. If your website is not listed within the internet search engines, you are losing business and will more than likely, more soon as compared to later, end up failing with your internet business.

Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines are your friend:

You will want to register your website with major search engines such as Google and Yahoo or maybe even Bing.  This can sometimes entail a lot of work and if this becomes too time consuming for you, there is always the option of hiring a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert to aid with this project.  SEO’s typically work for fees but considering the time and expertise, which this project entails, it is worth every penny to hire a good SEO.

Pay per click advertising:

Search engine marketing utilizes pay per click advertising.  SEO improves the flow of traffic to your website via search engines.  Pay per click advertising can get specific targeted traffic to your business website once your internet campaign is active.  Pay per click advertising is paid when someone clicks on your internet ads while visiting your website.  This will aid with your budget while driving visitors to your internet website.  Pay-per-click advertising is a wonderful marketing strategy, which you can utilize for your business website.

If you are a beginner, don't worry:

If you are new to search engine marketing, do understand that you do not need to have additional budgeting allotted for such.  You can relocate your offline marketing budget while testing it on search engine marketing.  Begin small while viewing the effectiveness before you jump in and spend more money.  Ensure that you feel confident with this search engine marketing before pursuing a more expensive means of performing search engine marketing.

Benefits Of Search Engine Optimization For You

There are two ways to measure the success of business websites.  You can check the page ranking within the internet search engines as well as the search engine result page.  If you are a business website owner, you should use search engine optimization while benefiting from the many tools and resources the internet has to offer your business.

The downside to being a business website owner is that you have to ensure that internet traffic can actually find your business website.  How will internet users know your website even exist if they can't find it? If you don't take the necessary steps to ensure your business website is ranked accordingly within the major search engines; they can't?

Search engine optimization can aid your business.  SEO can place your business website possibly within the top ten results on the search engine results.  Help from SEO will not only aid with increasing sales for your business website but also increase the flow of internet traffic to your business website.  SEO can also aid with your products visibility while improving business relations with your current customers.

The first mistake you could make. becoming a business website owner, is to disregard how important the internet search engines can be to your business website.  Internet search engines drive the majority of internet traffic.  Internet users click on links found within the search engine result pages.  If you can get a decent ranking with your business site within the major search engines, you will stand a great chance of success, for your business website.

You must ensure that your business website is appealing to internet visitors.  There is no need to draw any visitors into your business website, if you do not have relevant content or a website which internet users find appealing.  It does not take a long period for internet users to decide if they like or dislike your website (less than 3 seconds on average).  Your focus must be to grab their attention when they stumble upon or find your business website through the search engine.

If you are not an SEO expert then you might want to consider hiring one.  SEO experts can improve the traffic to your commercial website, while aiding your business to be competitive with other online businesses.  SEO’s offer many services which your business could greatly benefit from.  Website reporting, search engine submissions, link popularity building, as well as monthly maintenance are a few of the things, which SEO’s can offer your business website.

SEO’s allow companies no matter the size to advertise their products and services with the power of the internet.  If you are uncomfortable, hiring an individual SEO expert, then a search engine optimization company might be right up your alley.

SEO companies or individual SEO experts can be a great help, with maintaining your website, as well as your page rankings.  If you choose the right company for your business site, you will eventually see the results in not only the growth of the internet traffic to your website; but also profits.

Keep Your Website Visitors Coming Back

A lot of successful websites depend on returning visitors to account for a major part of their traffic. Returning visitors are easier to convert into paying customers because the more often they return to a site, the more trust they have in that site. The credibility issue just melts away. Hence, keep your visitors coming back to your site with the following methods:

1) Start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox

When you start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox, you are providing your visitors a place to voice their opinions and interact with their peers -- all of them are visitors of your site. As conversations build up, a sense of community will also follow and your visitors will come back to your site almost religiously every day.

2) Start a web log (blog)

Keep an online journal, or more commonly known as a blog, on your site and keep it updated with latest news about yourself. Human beings are curious creatures and they will keep their eyes glued to the monitor if you post fresh news frequently. You will also build up your credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real life person behind the website.

3) Carry out polls or surveys

Polls and surveys are other forms of interaction that you should definitely consider adding to your site. They provide a quick way for visitors to voice their opinions and to get involved in your website. Be sure to publish polls or surveys that are strongly relevant to the target market of your website to keep them interested to find out about the results.

4) Hold puzzles, quizzes and games

Just imagine how many office workers procrastinate at work every day, and you will be able to gauge how many people will keep visiting your site if you provide a very interesting or addicting way of entertainment. You can also hold competitions to award the high score winner to keep people trying continuously to earn the prize.

5) Update frequently with fresh content

Update your site frequently with fresh content so that every time your visitors come back, they will have something to read on your site. This is the most widely known and most effective method of attracting returning visitors, but this is also the least carried out one because of the laziness of webmasters. No one will want to browse a site that looks the same over ten years, so keep your site updated with fresh bites!

A Few Easy Tips to Increase Website Exposure

It is not the same old Internet anymore as far as marketing goes. There are ways to promote your website that will benefit you by adding extra cash in your pocket. Read about these methods of Internet marketing that people are using to drive customers to their website. The basic concept that “content is king” along with correct keyword usage is the way to go.  You will not regret using these new ways of marketing.

The number one Internet marketing plan for drawing customers into your website is the use of a blog. A blog is an ongoing online journal of your personal views or news related subject matters. People that read your blog are constantly aware of your ideas and thoughts, especially those concerning your business and products. The benefit of promoting your company through a blog is the fact that the search engines love blogs. Fresh new content and a few good keywords thrown in will push you higher up on the engine rankings. People will see it and more customers will click to your site.

In your blog, be sure to add valuable customer information such as product information, or business advice. This draws customer interest. In addition, other bloggers may wish to link to your blog site, and you can draw in customers from their blogs. That will continually feed your ranking and over time; customer loyalty backed by trust will drive your website and feed new customers into your email. However, without RSS feeds, Really Simple Syndication, your blog may be doomed to fail. RSS feeds work by aggregating the information and outlay it to the customer. The customer will need to have a web browser or special software that can read RSS feeds. Most any information is fed into an RSS feed. The good thing about using a web blog with a RSS Feed is that often your information gets to the news media. A well-written blog with timely advice and resources lends you as creditable in your business area. Be prepared, you could have a reporter knocking at your door.

Another area in which you can spice up your website is with the use of PHP coding. One of the drawbacks to using an RSS feed is that because it is a dynamic page – the spiders will not catch it quick. For example, if it has to wait too long to index it with the code intact, it will just move on. There are things you can do to work with the PHP language, and it will benefit you to learn how to do it. At least with the PHP, you can make your pages on the site look like HTML files. Do not forget to use the idea of text links too. Links to other great sites is a new advertising trend you can use for more website exposure. With SEO, Search Engine Optimization, companies use text link marketing to get their site into the higher rankings. You can use auctions where you bid only on what you think you need, or through a brokerage, you can buy and sell text links. Just like with banners you can change exchange links too.

Bookmark technology and ways to use them has come a long way. Most agree that getting someone to bookmark your site will lead to future sales. People rarely ask for a customer bookmark their site though. There are software programs that you can use to make book marking a snap. All you have to do is to provide a link and your customers can bookmark easily. Some Java script software will automatically bookmark your site for your customer. There is a small fee involved for you. A simple “Please bookmark this site” button is often enough to get the customer to bookmark. Certain software will also add a special icon when the customer saves the site. This makes it easy to standout from the other bookmarked sites. Pop-ups help you to get your customer to bookmark too. New ingenuous software will remind your customer to bookmark as they are leaving, and even to bookmark with their permission.

The Internet is a dynamic marketing experience. In addition, the better you are at implementing its new marketing tools – the more profits you will make. So learn all you can about these tips and go grab some lifetime customers.

How to Monetize Your Web Traffic.. Even if They Don't Buy

You bust your ass daily driving visitors to your web site. If you have a better than average sales page, you may convert 5% of them into customers, you've done pretty well for yourself. But what about those other 95% of your visitors? Wouldn't you like to earn something from them, too... even if it was just a few pennies?

There are numerous ways to capitalize on this web traffic. Here are a few:

Sign up for an ad service like Adsense or Ad Brite. I personally prefer Ad-brite because I can use interstitial ads that pay me whether they are clicked or not. It also seems that I get more banner ads (that pay me for number of views, rather than clicks) than I get with Adsense. There are other services out there. Find the one that fits your situation the best and start earning some extra cash with very little effort.

You can also sell ad space on your website. You can find banner rotators that are open-source and free to use. There are other solutions that are easier to use and have billing built in that you can find fairly cheap if you look around.

Place ads on your blog. If you utilize a blog on your site (and you really should!), be sure and have a link to it from the page you are driving traffic to. People may not buy the product but they will be interested in the free information on your blog. If you have ads in place on your blog, then you earn from those just looking for a freebie. Be sure and have links back to your sales and home pages from your blog as well. If you give the visitors useful information for free, some of them will buy your initial product, as well.

Start an affiliate program. We've already established that most of your visitors will not buy from you, but a good number of them will sell for you. Offer a small related report for free as an incentive for them to join up. Many of them will later become customers themselves if they have good success in selling your product(s).

Team up with another website. Find someone in the same target market, but not a competing product, and swap links. Join their affiliate program and have them join yours, so that you both can earn from each others traffic.

Make a membership area. Take all of your information and put it into one place that people can access for a fee. You can add to the site as you develop new ideas to keep them coming back. A few well-placed ads inside the area will add to the income coming from the membership fees.

Lastly, do not let your monetizing get out of hand. Limit the number of pop-up and interstitial ads your visitors are exposed to. Too many things distracting them from your main purpose (getting them to buy your product) will drive them away.

So, now you see how to easily add income from your existing traffic. Take a couple of hours and implement a couple of these ideas and see if you can't add a few bucks each day to your bottom line.

Shrink and Track all of Your Long URLs - Affiliate Links

There's a new service out there aimed at Twitter users who want to shrink their long URLs for their tweets... But its not limited to Twitter!

At Shortweet.com anyone can shorten their URLs and affiliate links and make them more managable. Need more than just a standard short link? Check out the additional features...

If you register for a free account, you get the ability to delete and edit your URLs. There are also some basic tracking features to show where your clicks are coming from. If you are posting your link to several sites, you can see which ones are bringing you the most visitors.

If you use safelists and/or traffic exchanges you can see which are the most effective. Not only will this site track what site the link came from, but also the IP address of the user who viewed it. So if a site sends you 100 visitors but they all originated from 5 different IPs and another sent you 25 visitors from 25 different IPs, then you would know that the second site (even though it sent you fewer total visitors) would probably be a better place for unique page views.

Seeing your total versus unique visitors is a great way to determine which sites to put more emphasis on. If a site is sending you tons of hits but they are coming from very few people, you probably should be advertising less there and concentrating your efforts on the ones that bring you the unique views.

Check out Shortweet.com! Its free to sign-up for and use!

Marlon Sander's 21-Step Cheat Sheet to Profiting from Twitter

by Marlon Sanders

In this article I’m sharing my cheat sheet for profiting
from Twitter.

I want to share with you how to obtain joint ventures,
meet people you can produce products with, get people to
promote your products and jump start your business — all
without forking over even a dime.

And you can do all of this starting 60 minutes from now –
even if you don’t know anyone to start, even if you don’t
have any sort of list to begin with, even if you’re a
newbie, even if you’re a Mac user, even if you can’t
attend seminars, even if ….

You get the idea.

By using Twitter, you will:

* Meet people who have lists and can promote your product.

* Meet people who have the know how to move your business
forward.

* Connect with people like you, so you don’t have that
feeling you’re in this all alone.

* Avoid the bickering, arguing junk that goes on in forums.

One thing I hate about forums is a few people post all the time
and become power brokers — even if they’re obnoxious, don’t
have any clue what they’re doing and so forth.

Forums also attract a lot of negativity.

Twitter is a totally different and refreshing experience.

I’ve officially been on Twitter hard core for a few weeks now.
I still have lots to learn. But let me share the amazing things
I HAVE discovered about it that can benefit you greatly and almost
immediately.

==> You’ll meet and connect with wonderful people

I’ve met some really neat people I normally would have never
connected with.

==> You’ll get to discuss things with people you might not
know about them in other venues.

==> You can interact with a lot of people quickly.

==> Your Twitter list builds virally

People will retweet (explained below) things you say. This
virally spreads your info through other people’s networks.

This is the most powerful aspect of Twitter.

Now, here are my best tips on getting the most out of
Twitter.

1. Sign up at Twitter.com

That’s step one, of course. It’ll take you about 30 seconds.

2. Download Tweetdeck

It’s a freebie download for pc’s and Macs from Tweetdeck.com.
Tweetdeck will make your tweeting an unbelievable experience.

3. Keep the negative junk off Twitter

Don’t use Twitter to try to get that refund or resolve disputes.
The purpose is marketing. Use it to bring positive energy and
meet people.

People have asked me, “Marlon, why can’t I publish info if
someone rips me off?”

The reason is because the PURPOSE of being on Twitter is to
network with people who can promote your products for you.

When you complain about other people, it REPELS positive
people, exactly the ones you are hoping to ATTRACT.

4. Follow people who are in your niche.

Go to Twitter.com. Click on “find people.” Type in names of
people who write blogs in your niche, who have affiliate
products and who are influencers.

Click the “follow” link under their photo. This will let you
see their tweets with other people.

5. Make friends

Do NOT go onto Twitter pitching people. Make friends. Be a
sociable person.

6. Learn the art of the RT

RT stands for “retweet”. There’s a little icon that says RT.
When you retweet someone’s messsage, you’re passing it on so
the people on your list can see it.

This is the ultimate form of sharing. You give before you
get.

Even if you only have 10 people on your list, use the RT.
But watch how others do it first. Don’t just jump in.

7. Observe for a week

Spend a week or so just watching others and learning what
happens on Twitter before you jump in head over heels.

8. Anything and I do mean anything you say can and will be
retweeted.

It’s crazy. People RT things you wouldn’t think they would.
So be aware that anything you say can be spread. So be
very cautious about saying anything negative about anyone.

9. Share your positive energy

I said this before. But I’m going to repeat. Positive energy
attracts other positive people.

10. Give first

Do NOT ask people to promote you or your product. GIVE first.
Offer to promote THEM!

How? I don’t know. Be creative. Think of something. Anything.
Even if it’s just republishing their article on your blog. Or
retweeting them.

Let me repeat — give first. Offer to promote others first.
By law of reciprocity many will give back to you.

The #1 mistake people make is to ASK before they give.

11. If someone really annoys you, you can go to twitter.com,
find their name and on the right side is link where you can
block them.

12. Go to associateprograms.com and search for affiliate
programs in your niche market. Find the names of the product
creators and look ‘em up on Twitter.

People who have products with affiliate programs also have
lists. Make friends with ‘em. Do something to promote
their product and tell ‘em about it. That WILL get a response
in most cases.

13. Offer viral ebooks and reports on Twitter.

Instead of blatantly promoting your product, it’s better
to offer a little report or ebook with a decent chance
of others retweeting it.

Use Twitter to PULL more than to PUSH. This is PULL
marketing.

14. When you run across a cool web site or resource tweet
it to your list.

15. Do NOT send a lot of messages without the @ symbol.
You want to send most of your messages to individuals
using the @ symbol.

16. Go out of your way to promote others to your Twitter
list. They’ll reciprocate some time in some way.

17. When you find a good blog post on someone’s blog,
pass it along to your Twitter list.

This endears you to the blog owner. Even if they aren’t
on your Twitter list, there’s a decent chance word will
spread back to ‘em.

This IS the age of instant communication.

18. Learn to Twitter on your iPhone or cell. Yes,
you can do that too.

19. Understand that in the big picture your goal is to
find people who have lists and can promote your products
then make friends with ‘em.

That’s your ultimate objective. But you don’t get there
by ramming your product down people’s throats. You get
there by being an ATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY that others
gravitate to.

It helps if you pass along cool resources and on
occasion say things that are profound or retweetable.

20. Inspire others to go for it and pursue what they
know they should pursue but don’t have the courage
to do it.

Be a cheerleader for people’s highest and best
interests.

21. Use Twitter strategically to meet and network
with list owners.

Do NOT end up twittering away time you really should
be using to create products or do other promotions.

Use Twitter. Don’t let it use you.

Please pass this cheat sheet along to others with the
resource box below. And then hit me with your feedback
and comments on my blog.

Let me know if this helped or inspired you:

How to Get Targeted Traffic From Traffic Exchanges

If you are using traffic exchanges to drive traffic to your site, you're probably going about it all the wrong way. It's OK! Most people who use them make the same mistakes.

If you're just starting out in internet marketing traffic exchanges are usually the first sites that you try to send traffic to your site or affiliate link. Sending these people directly to your page is a huge mistake! You should be using splash pages, banners and text ads to drive your traffic.

People who visit your site through the surf console are not targeted visitors! The only reason they are viewing your page is to earn credits so they can make the same mistakes in showing their pages to you and the other members.

The timer is short and they are trying to view as many pages as quickly as they can, so the page you are showing them to has to have something to catch their eye and make them stop for a moment. Not too much text, because they won't take the time to read it. A picture, a couple of lines of text and a link to click that opens in a new tab (or window). This is a splash page.

Think of your splash page as an oversized banner for the site you are promoting. It should fit completely withing the surf window. If its too large and the surfer has to scroll down to read or click the link, it will not work! Surfers usually won't take the time to scroll down and see the whole page.

OK, I'm driving untargeted traffic to a splash page; now what?

Every person that clicks the link on your splash page is visiting your main page because they want more information. This is a targeted visitor! And we all know that targeted visitors convert better than random ones.

There will be many who visit your site and buy your item or sign-up for your program that would have never even noticed it had you been advertising your main page because they would have never taken the time to read it!

Optimize your credit usage at traffic exchanges.

At many exchanges, I get a better response from banner and text ads than I do from my splash pages. I convert unused traffic credits to banner and text credits (usually anywhere from 10 to 100 impressions per traffic credit). If I'm getting 30 banner imps for every traffic credit and I convert 200 credits I end up with 6000 banner views.

Many exchanges give you surf bonuses of free banner and text credits if you surf a certain number of sites. They usually have a tiered formula that gives you another block of credits for each level you attain, so the more you surf, the more impressions you'll earn.

Why do banner and text ads work better at some exchanges than splash pages?

The first problem is that most surfers are viewing multiple exchanges and switching between tabs with every click. They get a very small glimpse, at the most, of your splash page, but the one thing they look at is the surf bar.

They have to look at the surf bar to know where to click to move on to the next page. And what ads are on the surf bar? BANNER AND TEXT ADS!!! Usually your banner and text ads get more eyeballs on them than the actual pages being rotated.

A good example of this happened to me today. I put a new text link on an exchange (one only) for a site that I had been promoting heavily but had not had a sign up for in a couple of weeks. Within an hour of posting that 26 character text ad, I had received 4 clicks and 2 sign-ups from it!

Not all work that well, but it gives you an idea of how powerful they can be.

Try to keep your text links original. Don't use the same words as someone else unless you know that their ad has been converting like crazy...Then by all means: COPY IT!!! You can also custom tailor your ad for each exchange.

i.e. You are promoting an exchange that gives you cash for surfing and doesn't limit the number of pages that you can surf in a day. You want to place an ad on another site that gives cash bonuses for surfing but limits the number of pages you can surf each day and say something like this: Surf 225 Earn 10c No Limit

The above link is the exact link that I posted on Revolutionary Traffic this morning that brought me two sign-ups for Hover Traffic in an hour!

The thing to remember is to make your splash pages, text links and banners so that they make the viewer want to click and find out more. Keep them truthful (false promises only piss people off). When they sign-up or buy from you; over deliver and keep them happy and you'll develop a customer for life.
